A Study Using Antihypertensive Therapy for Mild Chronic Hypertension during Pregnancy

Official Title: A Pragmatic Multicenter Trial of Antihypertensive Therapy for Mild Chronic Hypertension during Pregnancy (CHAP)

Purpose:

This study will evaluate the benefits and harms of using medicine in the treatment of mild chronic hypertension (CHTN) in pregnancy.

Eligibility criteria:

- Women with either a new or a known diagnosis of chronic hypertension during pregnancy receiving prenatal care at participating centers will be eligible for screening
- Single fetus (twins reduced to singleton or with vanishing twin syndrome prior to 14 weeks qualify)
- Viable pregnancy <23 0/7 weeks of gestation (without preeclampsia / or gestational hypertension).
