Knee Osteoarthritis Study--Lifestyle Intervention Program for Those 50 and Older

Official Title: Collaborative Lifestyle Intervention Program for Knee OsteoArthritis (CLIP-OA)

Purpose:

The purpose of the study is to compare the effects of a novel community-based Exercise and Dietary Weight Loss program to the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease exercise intervention on weight loss, mobility, pain, and quality of life in knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients.

Eligibility criteria:

- Age 50 and over
- Diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis-OA
- Overweight : BMI ≥ 25
- Health Status: all participants must be free of severe heart or systemic disease
- Sedentary: relatively inactive
- Other criteria to be explained by coordinator
